about

"The Minstrel" sung and written by Chandrani and performed by Krosswindz . Back in 1994 The Rock Street Journal in New Delhi announced that they would be releasing a compilation album of all the noteworthy Indie artists of the time honoring them on an album titled The Great Indian Rock, so we were requested to submit a track. We just took a snap decision to record a couple of songs that Chandrani had written one afternoon. So we got in a cab and headed to our bass player Dwight Pattison's house(God rest his soul) we found him snoozing with a nice novel on his chest as it was around 3 in the afternoon, we woke him up and rushed him to the cab with his bass guitar and headed to Studio Vibrations.

On landing up at the studio we were told no recordings could take place as the pest control people had sprayed the studio with tons of chemicals and the smell was strong and bad, but we insisted that since we had come all the way and we would soldier on through that awful stench, and thus began the session. Within about three hours the tracks were done-we recorded two songs-The Minstrel as well as another original titled Memories of You, which will be released later this year. Again Ephraim Issacs did a wonderful job of recording and mixing the tracks and now we have it ready to hit the airwaves..

lyrics

Lyrics-

I can hear your voice across the valleys and the plains

telling me the stories of faraway lands

the kings the queens their quarrels come alive in your tales

I love to see the kingdoms through your eyes

The ballerina dancer doesn't know her next step

the symphony conductor doesn't know which note to choose

and in between the ballet, she stumbles and falls

the symphony conductor looks with disapproving eyes

the minstrel he sings that sad sad song

life is a journey that's oh so long

he's tired and weary but he keeps walking on

cause there's always a story for him to tell
